It’s frustrating, right?
The best electric pumps for inflatable paddle boards are popular, convenient, and widely available, but for some reason you don’t have one.
There’s nothing worse.
All you want to do is get in the water.
You feel calm, relaxed, and then you’re hit with the dreaded realization that you need to inflate your paddle board — with a manual hand pump!
Talk about an instant slap to the face.
You’re about to start sweating and straining before you even get out there.
On the other hand, if you have an electric pump, all you need to do is attach the valve and watch it inflate in no time at all — no sweat, no strain, super convenient, and stress-free. Plus, when you’ve finished in the water most electric pumps will also deflate your paddle board too. No more squeezing the hell out of it so it can be packed away neatly and tight.
Yes, if you’re a smart cookie, an electric SUP pump is clearly the way to go.

|MODEL||Bravo 20 Electric SUP Pump|
|MAX INFLATION||22 PSI / 1.5 BAR|
|DIMENSIONS||11″ x 7″ x 6.5″|
The Bravo 20 SUP Electric Pump ranks high on the compatibility factor. Along with the pump, you will receive a range of adapters that work well with different valves, for example, 9mm inflate valves, screw valves, and H3 SUP valves. You can also use the sup electric pump even where the plastic depth ring of the board has been removed. The Bravo 20 SUP Electric Pump includes 3-depth rings, which can be adjusted and utilized to change the valve depth as required.
Speed and Low-Noise Delivery
The Bravo 20 electric sup pump is significantly quiet, but certainly not a slow performer. It can rapidly inflate your stand up paddle board with ease and deliver up to 15 psi of air pressure. You can expect to inflate an average board within just five to six minutes with the Bravo. The pump can be attached to the board, and you don’t have to monitor it while it does its job.
Pressure Indicator and Auto Shut-Off
You can set the desired pressure using the pressure indicator dial that is provided on the Bravo 20 electric sup pump. You can simply choose the required pressure and the sup pump will do the rest on its own. An auto shut off feature is provided, which will switch off the pump once the desired psi level is reached. This prevents the risk of over-inflation for your board.
Thermal Shut Off
Many electric pumps face the risk of damage from overheating. The Bravo 20 SUP Electric Pump includes an automatic thermal function that will switch off the pump if it begins to overheat. This will give you peace of mind, and you can safely do some other tasks while the pump is inflating the board.
You can use the Bravo 20 inflatable paddle board pump with a 12 volt DC battery. The pump comes with a rechargeable battery, and you can also charge the pump with a vehicle cigarette lighter plug. The set includes alligator clips to connect the electric pump with an external 12V battery. You will need to charge the unit for about 12 hours. Once it is fully charged, you won’t need to carry the charger along with you, and you can simply inflate the SUP wherever you want.

|MODEL||iRocker Electric Pump|
|MAX PSI||20 PSI|
|LOUDNESS||90 – 99 DB|
|HOSE LENGTH||3ft. 5|
The iRocker 12V electric pump is worth noting for its compact design and swift inflation speed. It comes with an inflation limit of 20 psi, which means it can inflate a typical SUP within 15 minutes. Thanks to the two power source options out of the box, you can plug it into a 12V battery or a standard car cigarette lighter with the help of alligator clips (included with the sup pump). And like most SUP brands in the market, this iRocker pump also has a 12-month warranty.
This pump features a box shape that is designed to store and prevent your power cords from getting tangled when not in use. It can typically inflate 2 paddle boards before needing a break, and it can both inflate and deflate.
This pump also has an automatic shut-off mechanism, so you can make sure you’re getting the right amount of air into the board. Even though the iRocker 12V electric pump weighs about the same as many other pumps from the same brand, it takes a lot less space due to its convenient design
Digital LCD Display
You can set the preferred psi limit and keep an eye on your progress through the digital LCD screen.
|Relatively faster inflation times||Needs a 30-minute break after 20 minutes of continuous use|
|Compact size||No internal battery|
|12-month brand warranty|

|MODEL||Tower Paddle Board Pump|
|MAX PSI||20 PSI|
|DIMENSIONS||12″ x 4.5″ x 7″|
|INFLATION TIME||1 PSI/MINUTE|
|HOSE LENGTH||54 inches|
One of the things that set the Tower Paddle Board electric pump apart from others is its low price. If you’re looking for an affordable, as well as an easy-to-use electric pump, this can be a perfect choice.
Even though it might be cheap, the Tower pump doesn’t disappoint when it comes to inflating your paddle boards quickly. It has a maximum psi of 20, which is pretty standard for most electric pumps on the market. You can connect this pump to a car battery of 12V or a cigarette plug, which gives it an additional advantage as not all pumps on the market are compatible with both.
This paddle board pump comes with an air hose and an H3 nozzle that can be used to connect to all paddle boards from the Tower brand. In fact, the pump can connect to various other brands too.
Automatic Turn Off
The automated shut-off feature is a convenient touch that comes in handy when inflating your paddle board. You won’t have to worry about over-inflating as the Tower pump will turn off on its own once the board has an adequate amount of air.
|An H3 hose is included||Speed is not as high as other high-end brands|
|Automatic shut off feature||Doesn’t have a thermal power-off feature|
|Comes with a carrying bag||9 AMPS|

|MODEL||Seamax SUP20D Double Stage SUP Electric Pump|
|POWER SUPPLY||12V DC|
|Dimensions||10″ x 7″ x 7″|
This electric pump has been advertised as the upgraded version of the other SUP pumps from Seamax, so we’re excited to review this one. Although a little slower, it’s a lot cheaper than the Bravo electric pump we have listed above.
As stated above, it’s a bit slower than the Bravo sup electric pumps, but it can inflate to a maximum of 20 psi in two stages. During the first stage, it works at a 350 liter/minute speed, and in the second stage, it can go up to 70 liters/minute. To give you an idea, if you have an 11-inch demo board, the Seamax can inflate it in a little less than 10 minutes. This SUP pump can be connected to a car battery or a 12V car cigarette lighter. The lighter connection is included with the pump and it comes with a built-in 12A fuse.
Highly Compatible Valve Adapter
The Seamax SUP20 D pump is compatible with many inflatable stand up paddle boards, such as Naru, Halkey Roberts, and Bravo. For a true airtight connection, the O ring size seems to be the best option for the valve adapter.
Thermal Sensor and Backlit LED Display
The audible indicator and backlit LCD display offer real-time working status and it’s very much like a set-it-and-forget-it air pump. Just set the air pressure you want and you’ll be good to go. One of the biggest challenges paddle boarders face is the overheating issue which can damage the SUP pump. Fortunately, with the Seamax SUP pump, the internal temperature sensor is designed to prevent this exact issue. The pump will auto shut off as soon as it gets too hot.
|Valve adapter included||Doesn’t include an easy to carry case|
|Relatively quieter||A little slower than expected|
|Portable and lightweight (4lbs.)|
|Built-in pump cooling system and sand filter|
|Cigarette lighter has an in-built 12A fuse and 1 spare fuse|

|MODEL||Sevylor SUP & Water Sport Pump|
|MAXIMUM PSI||15 PSI|
|Dimensions||19″ x 7″ x 18.6″ cm|
The Sevylor SUP electric pump is a multi-purpose pump that can inflate paddle boards as well as boats, airbeds, towables, and other types of inflatables. This can be a perfect buy for a family that owns different types of inflatables and wants to keep an electric air pump in the car at all times. Another thing that makes the Sevylor 12V 15 psi air pump family-friendly is the ease of use; whether you have ever used an electric pump in the past or not, you will find it very straightforward to use.
Compatible Valve and Fast Speed
Like most of the other SUP electric pumps we have reviewed here, this one also comes with valve adapters to make it compatible with several different valves. As for the speed, this little pump packs a great punch for its size. It can inflate up to 15 psi, which is obviously a little slower than other pumps that feature 20 psi, but the Sevylor is a very reliable pump nevertheless. It can easily inflate a demo board within 7-8 minutes.
Power and Automation
One small catch is that this air pump only works when connected to a 12V DC battery. If you’re looking for a sup pump that works with both a vehicle battery and a cigarette car lighter, this Sevylor 12V 15 psi pump won’t be suitable. You can set the desired psi limit you want thanks to the clear digital display. Once you have chosen the limit, just turn it on and it will auto shut off when the paddle board is fully inflated.
|MODELLightweight and small (3.4 lbs)||No east to carry case|
|Great Speed||Inflation hose is very short and made of cheap materials|
|Double lock and pinch valves mechanism||The connection between the pump and the inflation hose is not durable|
|Long Cord||No overheating protection|

Gili Air 10’6 Stand Up Paddle Board
|MODEL||OUTDOOR MASTER SHARK PUMP|
|MAXIMUM PSI||20 PSI|
|Dimensions||11″ x 9.5″ x 4.84″|
|MAX USE TIME||30 MINUTES|
This is one of the most popular SUP electric pumps in the market, especially among people who own several paddle boards.
Easy To Use
Unlike most other electric pumps that have to be connected to the car battery, this one can be easily plugged into the 12V DC connector in your vehicle. It features a built-in handle that makes it easy to carry this lightweight pump wherever you go.
In-Built Cooling System
The coolest feature of the Outdoormaster Shark air pump is its active cooling system. The advantage is that it doesn’t burn out or over-heat quickly. It claims to inflate up to 3 inflatable paddle boards in a row without needing a cool-off period, and from what we have seen, it holds true to the promise.
Dual Stage Motor
The Shark air pump has two stages: the first stage is for the maximum speed of 350 liter/minute, and the second one is for 70 liter/minute. When you start using the air pump, the first stage kicks in and inflates your stand up paddle board until it reaches 1 psi.
Then after about one minute, the second stage starts to complete the job and inflates the stand up paddle board to your desired psi. If you’re wondering how you can tell when the second stage begins, just listen to the noise. The second stage is a bit louder than the first.
Automatic Shut Off
We love it when electric air pumps have an auto shut off feature, and this air pump is no different. As soon as it reaches the max psi level you’ve set, the air pump will shut off. So just hook up the pump, turn on the power button, and leave it. You won’t need to hold the hose to the valve or keep touching the pump at all.
Good Speed and Convenient to Carry
Shark is hands down one of the fastest SUP electric pumps we have tried. It takes just under 8 minutes to inflate an average-sized stand up paddle board. If you want to be on the water as fast as possible, the Outdoormaster Shark just might be the ticket.
This is a surprisingly lightweight pump, which means you can lug it around as much as you want. Although it doesn’t come with an easy to carry bag, it does have a built-in handle to make it easy to carry. It can inflate any paddle board that is up to 20 psi, but the pump can be a little noisy.
Several Air Valve Attachments Included
This pump comes with a lot of bells and whistles so you probably won’t need to buy any extra valve adapter components. It can be plugged into the 12V cigarette lighter of your vehicle, and not your car battery, making it a lot more convenient and easy to use. The deflation function is also very fast once you decide to pack up your paddle board.
Automation and Digital Display
You can set your desired psi level on the digital display screen, and the air pump will auto shut off on its own as soon as it reaches that target pressure level.
It also has an automatic cooling system and can inflate up to 3 paddle boards without needing a break. If you usually inflate more than one paddle board at a time, the Outdoormaster Shark is a shrewd choice.
|Auto cut off and cooling system||Expensive|
|The automatic duel-stage function makes it faster||No easy to carry bag|
|A 12A fuse for additional safety||Quite Loud|
|A full set of air valve nozzle attachments are included|
|Made from eco-friendly material|
Rating: 4.3 out of 5.0
|MODEL||ERS 12V VDC PUMP|
|MAXIMUM PSI||20 PSI|
|DIMENSIONS||11.6″ x 5.3″ x 6.3″|
|MAX USE TIME||20 MINUTES|
The ERS 12 VDC + Go electric pump is pretty good at its job and it’s easy to carry around. This is (arguably) one of the best portable electric pumps for paddleboarders.
Dual Stage Pump
Its two-stage pump can inflate a paddle board up to 20 psi. When you turn on the electric pump, the first stage begins and inflates as fast as possible. Then it switches to the second stage automatically for safer inflation at high pressure.
Even though this paddle board pump comes with a plug for any standard car cigarette lighter socket, you can choose to include the brand’s GO battery while checking out. The GO battery claims to inflate 6-8 paddle boards to 15 psi on a single charge! It also has 3 extra USB outputs for charging speakers, phones, and other devices. In other words, you can pump up to several paddle boards with the GO battery addition, without having to plug into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter.
Inflation and Deflation Mode
The ERS 12V pump features both inflation and deflation modes. All you need to do is plug the air hose into the right nozzle, connect it to your paddle board, and you’re good to go.
A simple dial enables you to set the target pressure limit you want, and there is a gauge right above the dial so you can monitor the progress of inflation. Although the brand says you can use the air pump to inflate 2 inflatable paddle boards in a row without overheating, you will need to give the pump a rest after inflating 1 paddle board, especially if it’s a little hot outside.
Thankfully, the automatic shut-off feature will turn the pump off once the desired psi has been achieved, so you don’t have to worry about over-inflating your paddle board.
|Super portable with GO battery||Can’t be connected to a 12V battery|
|Takes under 12 minutes to pump up a large SUP||Requires a 10-minute cool-down after 20 minutes of continuous use|
|Can pump up to 8 paddle boards (if you have the GO battery)|
|12-month warranty for the pump as well as the GO battery|
|Automatic shut off feature|
Rating: 4.5 out of 5.0
|MODEL||THURSO SURF SUP PUMP|
|MAXIMUM PSI||15 PSI|
|MAX USE TIME||20 MINUTES|
|DIMENSIONS||8.5″ x 3.9″ x 5.6″|
Thurso Surf is known for making quality stand up paddle boards and electric pumps, so it’s no surprise this air pump ended up on our list. It’s easy to use and carry and comes in dazzling green color.
This SUP pump features a 15 psi so you will be able to inflate most paddle boards – regardless of the size – within 10-15 minutes. You can set the air pressure anywhere from 1 to 15 psi, and once it is reached, the pump will turn off on its own.
Simply plug the pump into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter, and you will be able to go on the water in under 15 minutes. One thing we didn’t like is the short warranty period; unlike other prestigious brands that offer a minimum of a 1-year warranty, the Thurso Surf only offers a 60-day warranty. Also, this electric pump only has one nozzle.
If you want to buy an electric pump that can both inflate and deflate your paddle boards the Thurso Surf electric pump is not for you. It doesn’t have a deflation function, but that’s what makes it smaller and lighter than most other pumps.
The built-in light makes it easy to see and read the dial in the light and dark. Just set the target pressure and you can monitor it as closely as you like.
If you want to inflate two paddle boards in a row, make sure the back air vent on the pump is uncovered and keep it out of the sun. If you use the pump under the blistering hot sun, you won’t be able to inflate more than one paddle board due to overheating.
When that happens, the automatic shut-off feature will kick in and the air pump will be turned off. That being said, these pumps offer fast inflation, especially for its size. Performance-wise, it’s as good as many 2 stage pumps on this list! It may not be powerful enough to satisfy Tim ‘the tool man’ Taylor, but so what? How many people need their paddle boards pumped up in two seconds anyway. This would risk blowing a hole in the board and probably blowing up a quarter acre of sand on the beach? No one wants that!
|Small and lightweight (2.6 lbs)||Can’t be connected to a car battery|
|Pretty fast speed for such a small electric pump||No deflation nozzle|
|Digital psi monitor||No carry bag|

5 Things To Consider When Buying A SUP Electric Pumps
Now that you have taken a good look at several electric pumps to inflate your paddle board, it’s time for us to share some tips and tricks to ensure you get the most out of your pump.
Always make sure the air valve is locked in place
Before you start inserting the pump’s hose, check the air valve to make sure it is closed tightly. For most paddle boards, it’s when the valve is sticking in an upwards position. This way, you can insert and twist the hose to easily open up the valve and then close it without losing any air when you twist the hose back. You can then remove the hose as soon as you’re done inflating your paddle board.
The reason why this step is important is that if you don’t do it, your paddle board will decrease by 2-4 psi (if not more) as you try to close the open air valve while removing the hose. So, always make sure your board’s air valve is in the “up” position before you insert the hose.
Be careful when using the SUP electric pumps to inflate multiple stand up paddle boards in a row
A lot of the stellar electric pumps can inflate two paddle boards in a row without needing a cool-off period when the weather is nice and cool. But on extremely hot days, your electric pump may need a break after inflating one SUP. We recommend a cool-off period of 30 minutes, during a hot day in the sun, but it does depend on your pump model.
Once you have inflated your first board, check the temperature of the pump, especially around the vents and the hose. If the pump feels uncomfortably hot to the touch, your pump is not ready to inflate another board just yet. So, shut it off for at least 30 minutes before you use it to inflate another SUP.
This is quite important, if you don’t allow the electric pumps to cool down first, they will overheat and can stop working altogether.
Always use a mat, blanket, or a tarp underneath the inflatable SUP
When inflating your paddle board, make sure the board doesn’t come in direct contact with sand, grass, concrete, or other hard surfaces. Concrete surfaces can leave ugly scratches on the board, while sand and grass can get into the air pump’s motor and jam it up. This is why we recommend placing your stand up paddle board and the pump on a blanket or a tarp before you start the inflation process. You can also use a landing mat that usually comes with quality SUPs.
Don’t exceed the PSI limit on the SUP electric pumps
While some electric pumps can go as high as 20 psi, some only go as far as 15 psi. Whatever the recommended psi limit of your particular SUP is, do NOT ever go past it. Generally speaking, the more psi a paddle board has, the better it will perform. However, if you overinflate the board, it will just pop and break (imagine an overinflated balloon). So, take a good look at the recommended PSI on your paddle board, and don’t exceed the upper limit.
Use an electric pump to deflate your SUP
You may think that since it’s pretty easy to deflate your paddle board manually, it’s unnecessary to use an electric pump to do the same. But the truth is, it’s impossible to completely deflate a SUP with your hands. An electric pump can suck out every last bit of air that you can’t get out manually. Once the board is totally empty, you can easily roll it up and pack it into your carry case.
Many people don’t realize that using an electric pump to deflate the board extends its lifespan as well. How? If your inflatable paddle board is not properly deflated, and you pack it up and put it in storage, the board will start to lose its shape.
We hope this comprehensive buying guide will help you choose the best electric pumps based on your budget, needs, and preference.
According to our research and multiple trials, the sup electric pumps listed in this article are the crème de la crème on the market today.
However, if you are confused and can’t make up your mind, we recommend going with the GILI electric pump. While reading about the brand’s claims, it seemed too good to be true, so we ran it through several trials and it passed with flying colors.
Also, the GILI brand is known for paying the utmost attention to quality and durability, plus they have outstanding customer support.
